There
was only one occasion when the Japanese Army Air Force (as opposed to
Navy) attacked Guadalcanal. This aircraft was part of that unique effort,
and the wreck site is testament to a furious dogfight that ended in tragedy
for the young Japanese pilot of this aircraft.
