During WWII, massive tunnel systems were excavated and built by the Japanese forces around Papua New Guinea (PNG) during their years of occupation. In Weak Township, an equally large, but all together forgotten tunnel systems also exist. Immediately after the war, it was sealed shut. [Oct 2003]

On the afternoon of 26 July 2003, during a downpour in the tropical rain forest of Papua New Guinea, Justin Taylan discovered an A6M2 Zero wreck with human remains. After reporting the find to the embassy, we were involved with both the recovery of remains and identification. [July 2003]

Captured on Iwo Jima, seeking family to return this relic. Includes chop, good luck charms and cloth wallet. The hanko (seal or chop) reads 'Takahashi'. The Migawari-Omomori (sacred amulet of wood) in the bottom right is evidently from Naritasan Shinshoji Temple in Chiba near present-day Narita international airport.
